Army Cadet Force - Make Your Mark

Orienteering - the Adventure Sport for All

Orienteering is an exciting outdoor adventure sport which involves walking or running whilst navigating around a course using a detailed map and sometimes a compass.   The aim is to navigate between a set of control points and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time.  It does not matter how fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace.

Orienteering can take place anywhere and is a great sport for our cadets as it improves fitness and navigation skills as well as sometimes working as a team.

If you are aged over 16 and lucky enough to be selected to compete in the National ACFA Championships, your orienteering experience could count towards your Level 2 BTEC in Public Services.

This year, for the first time ina long time, we resurected orienteering as a county sport and are hoping to run a County competition in 2012 where we will select our County team to compete at National level. The date is to be confirmed, but watch this space....
