Sport and the Army Cadet Force

The Army Cadet Force holds seven national sports competitions and more than 2,000 cadets compete in sports at national level each year.

All our cadets have the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports and competitions but before you reach the national finals, there are regional heats to compete in.

In 2011 we were crowned Regional Champions in almost every category and well over 200 cadets have been presented with County Colours. Of those, more than 100 were chosen to represent Eastern Region in their respective sports and have received National Colours.

With sport at county and detachment levels, it’s clear that many thousands of cadets all over the country are regularly building their confidence and learning teamwork skills in a spirit of healthy competition through ACF sport.  Senior cadets can apply for the Community Sports Leadership Course, which is currently run twice a year and leads to the Sports Leaders UK, Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership.
