A Company Pay Tribute To Sir John Lowther KCVO
"A British Soldier and Northamptonshire Gentleman"

Cadets and Adults from A Company Corps of Drums attended a Memorial service held to pay tribute to Sir John Lowther, the former Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire. The service, held at All Saints Church in Northampton, took place following his death in April.

A Company Corps of Drums have supported the Royal British Legion Remembrance Sunday parade in Guilsborough for many years, instigated by Sir John, who lived in the village and it was an honour for us to be invited to play on the church plaza prior to the start of the service,

The service was attended by many other organisations that Sir John helped and supported over the years, and included the Northamptonshire Association of Youth Clubs and the Scouts, as well as the Fire Brigade and Police Force.

I had the honour of serving Sir John as his Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet as well as playing with the Corps of Drums on many occasions. He always sought me out and never failed to say hello and ask how my family were, When I saw him at last year's Remembrance Service he told me that he would be looking over us at this years Parade - I truly believe he will do just that.
