A Company held their annual Open Day on Saturday 5th November at Gibraltar Barracks in Northampton. This was our "show case" event and on a cold but dry day all the detachments put on a first class display for family, friends and schoolmates, displaying the activities of the ACF.
The climbing wall, run by Quebec was a major attraction raising £75.00 for the poppy appeal. Rhine detachment had a display of the history of the ACF and a puzzle game. Salamanca put on the paintball stand raising a furtherb £122 for the Poppy appeal. Martinique put on a first class display of field craft, while Simpson detachment put on a demonstration of first aid. Kabritt detachment run a command task stand and Talavera displayed the adventure training equipment. Upstairs in the main hall an air rifle range allowed cadets and visitors to enjoy a shoot, and at the same time we discovered some very good shots.
In the main arena there were displays for rifle drill, first aid and the band. All in all a very successful day with many visitors through the gates. |
