Company Weekend - November 2011

A Company LNR ACF were partying during this weekend at Yardley Chase.

The weekend was an inter detachment Competition where cadet teams from Anzio, Burma, Kabritt, Gibraltar, Martinique, Rhine, Quebec, Salamanca, Simpson and Talavera locked horns for points. Each detachment team comprised of 10 cadets, and they had to negotiate stands and compete for points. The stands included Air rifle shooting, Paintball Ally, Section Attack, Drill and Turnout, Archery, Orienteering, Command Task and First Aid. Our visitors included  Col S Davies Commandant LNR ACF, Lt. Col R Bloomfield Chair of Northamptonshire RFCA, Ms Judy Shepherd Northants County Council, RSM Cross and TSA WO2 P Lunnan.

By the end of the first day the scores on the doors indicated that the race was very close with Simpson Detachment a nose in front of Quebec by 1 point.

On Saturday evening the cadets were treated to a Christmas meal followed by disco party.

After Dinner, Cdt SSgt Briers of Quebec Detachment was presented with a plaque and flowers in recognition of her final weekend after five years as a cadet and the cadets gave L\Cpl William Smith of Talavera detachment a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday as he celebrated his 17th Birthday.

The party animals managed a good night sleep before the resumption of hostilities on the final day with Cross Country and Military Knowledge to face before lunch.

After a very close finish, Quebec detachment emerged worthy winners closely followed by Simpson Detachment.

This was an excellent weekend enjoyed by both cadets and the instructors.
