On Remembrance Sunday, as is their custom, a coach full of Squadron cadets, along with their OC and Officers and Adult Instructors, paraded at the village of Croft.
The Squadron have been supporting this Parade for many years since, at the request of a former CEO, they replaced the junior soldiers from nearby Bramcote.
The contingent paraded with their own Squadron banner, and the Union Flag of the Old Contemptibles Leicester Branch, who placed it in the care of the Squadron back in the seventies. It was made all the more poignant this year, as the country has now lost the last of its World War One Veterans.
Headed by the band and the veterans, the parade, which also included a sizeable Air Training Corps presence and numerous local uniformed youth groups, marched from the forming up point, right around the village, and down to the hollow where the War Memorials stand.
Croft has two memorials, one to the dead of the two World Wars, and one to those who have fallen in later conflicts.
During the service, the cadets perform the extra duty of making a collection from the sizeable crowd of spectators.
Service over, the parade marches past the saluting base, and away back into the village. The cadets are, however, not gone for long, as they swiftly report back to the inn for a generous feed, provided by the British Legion.
As well as the main parade at Croft our cadets and adults were also out in force at various other locations throughout our area. Wigston Detachment paraded at Wigston Magna where SMI Kirsty Cross was given the honour of being Parade Marshal this year.

Both Hinckley and Lutterworth Detachments paraded in their respective town centres and Dixie Detachment were on parade in Market Bosworth.
Finally, Oadby Detachment attended their local parade through the town during the afternoon. It was led by the pipe band and SSM Kris Cross and SMI Kirsty Cross were drafted in at the last minute to escort the Branch Standard in the absence of the Naval escort.

All together there were approximately 150 cadets, adult instructors and officers from B Squadron supporting several British Legion Parades throughout south Leicestershire; in some cases the only army presence there - well done everyone!
