B Squadron News
Squadron Weekend, 29 June-01 July 2007
B Squadron held their pre-camp weekend at Swynnerton Training Camp in Staffordshire over the weekend 29 June - 1st July. The forecast of torrential rain failed to dampen enthusiasm and they had a full turn out of 150 cadets.
Included in the activities was a newly introduced inter-troop competition and Captain (Ret'd) Dave Walton was invited to hand over the new trophy, which he had presented on his retirement as CAA. The competition had been hard fought to judge by the appearance of team members, some of whom were mud covered from boot to beret!

The winning team members were L/CPL M Elliott (Team Leader), Cdt N Burrows, L/Cpl C Barker, L/Cpl R Buttress, LCpl R Gearing, LCpl, K Green, Cdt J Hollows, L/Cpl F Morton, L/Cpl Radburn, Cdt M Scotchbrook and Cdt O Vickers. |
The runners up were: Cdt M Taylor (Team Leader), Cdt M Cooke, Cdt M Davies, Cdt F Flowers, Cdt F Holmes, Cdt M Marvin and Cdt F Persico
The following awards were also presented on final parade:
The Drill Competition Cup was won by Hinckley Troop
Best shots went to Cdt Hollows, L/Cpl Green K and Cdt Mortimore
Cdt S Porter won the Memory Test
The Achievement Award for the recruits went to Cdt Roberts
The Endeavour Award to Cdt Mercer.
This weekend was the last as a cadet for Squadron Sergeant Major Mark Chiswell. He is seen here being presented with a Regimental Whip by OC B Squadron. |

Major Young said "It has been a privilege to work with Sgt Maj Chiswell and he will be sorely missed by both his detachment and the Squadron. However, all is not lost as he will shortly be rejoining the Squadron as an Adult Instructor". |
