C Company Support Armed Forces Day
C “Tiger” Company were once again honoured to be asked to represent LNR ACF at the Leicestershire Armed Forces Day Parade 2012.
Eighty cadets and instructors gathered at Ulverscroft Road to form up and practice a bit of drill before being taken to Leicester Cathedral for a service of remembrance and thanks to our Service personnel, past, present and future.
After the service the Company formed up within the parade and marched through the city, led by Lt Wells and our newly appointed Training Officer Lt Marriott, followed by Cadet Sgt Lad carrying the Company Banner.
The Company marched with the aid of Cadet CSM Argyle (helping to keep us in step) and under ther watchful eye of acting CSM SMI Coyston, down High Street and onto Gallowtree Gate to the saluting dais, where the salute was taken by the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Lady Gretton.
After the parade was halted and dismissed the cadets and adults were invited back to the Cathedral for light refreshments.
During the walk back to the Cathedral a few onlookers of the parade spoke to some of the adults and commented on how smart and proud the c adets looked whilst marching.
C “Tiger” Company are now preparing for the Remembrance Day Parade at Victoria Park, Thurmaston & Evington in November.
