BURRDA SPORT, in association with Leicester City Football Club, very kindly donated a hospitality suite to the Royal Anglian Regiment for the match against Chrystal Palace on Tuesday 12th April.
As the Regiment is presently on an operational tour, Major (Ret’d) Bill O’Driscoll, the Regimental Area Secretary gifted the suite to some of those Officers and Adult Instructors of Leicestershire, Northamptonshire & Rutland Army Cadet Force (LNR ACF) who are either ex regular members, or are currently affiliated to, the Royal Anglian Regiment.
Major O’Driscoll said “The officers and instructors of the cadet force do an amazing job looking after our youngsters and give up an inordinate amount of their free time to do so. They are frequently seen helping out at Charity events and collecting for organisations such as the Soldiers’ Charity, H4H and the Poppy Appeal. We thought this would be a small token of our appreciation for all that they do”.
The guests were entertained in the Bloomfield Suite, where they enjoyed a three course meal before the start of the match and tea and biscuits at half time.
Lieutenant Colonel Pat Long, said “The whole evening was a wonderful experience which was much appreciated by the Adults lucky enough to be invited to attend. The donation of the hospitality package by BURRDA SPORT was a very generous gesture".
