Major & Mrs Osborn Visit the Palace

Major & Mrs John Osborn who are residents of Earl Shilton attended Buckingham Palace for the Queen's Garden Party on 18 July.

Major Osborn is the County Sports & Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Officer.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, which celebrated its Fiftieth Anniversary last year, is a major part of the Army Cadet syllabus, and Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Army Cadet Force recorded over three hundred awards during the last year.

Major Osborn said ‘It is a true honour to attend the Garden Party on behalf of the Army Cadet Force. The Duke of Edinburgh is the Colonel in Chief of the Army Cadet Force and the Scheme many hundreds of cadets have discovered how much they are able to achieve.’
