D Company NewsRothwell Detachment Map & Compass TestsOn Saturday 19th November we held a one star map and compass test day. The day started traditionally with tea and toast followed by a safety brief. The written part of the test was carried out at the detachment and after a Naafi break and putting on our boots, we set off across the fields. The weather remained dry and sunny and the cadets who attended did very well. The following weekend it was the turn of the two star cadets to test their navigational skills. After competing their route cards thay set off to compleete their task. As it was another pleasant day, several of the one star cadets came back for some extra practise. All the cadets who particpated in the tests have now passed theiir respective star in map and compass - well done! SI Garry Smallbones |
