E Company NewsBeating Retreat - Oakham 2011The annual Beating Retreat in Oakham Market Place took place on Wednesday 7th September and attracted in excess of 300 people and, As in previous years, members of Oakham Detachment were on hand to help collect donations from the audience. The Minden Band of The Queen’s Division performed for more than half an hour to help raise money for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity. Dr Laurence Howard, Lord Lieutenant of Rutland, took the the salute as the band marched off. The Cadets along with regular soldiers collect £580 in the hour that the event was staged. Well done to them for giving up their evening for such a worthwhile cause. |
