For the first time in the beautiful surrounds of Belvoir Castle, Cancer Research UK held a 10k fundraising run on Sunday 2nd September. Melton Detachment took up the challenge when ask to support the event. Twelve cadets from the detachment arrived early on the Sunday morning and were well received by the event organisers. The first task of the day for the cadets was to help set-up the start and finish funnels. During the event cadets ran the water station at the 5k point, which all agreed was a wet but very enjoyable job. Others had the job of handing out medals, goody bags and water at the finish line. An enjoyable and worthwhile day was had by all. Lt Mark Whitehead
