Corby NCOs' Annual Mess Dinner 2012 |
It's January, so it's time once again for the annual Corby III NCOs' Mess Dinner, now in its 6th year. This year cadet NCO’s from Alexandra were invited to join us, making the event even bigger than before! |
Our guests, invited by our PMC, Cdt Sgt Marsden, included the two detachment commanders, SSI G Smith and SMI Richardson, the senior cadet from each detachment. Cpl Pack and myself and Mr Farrant, an ex cdt CSM of E Company, who we were dining out. As soon as the cadets arrived, dressed in their best bibs and tuckers, we were entertained with pre dinner drinks whilst making ready for our eagerly anticipated three course meal. After the meal Mr Vice, LCpl Parrish (the most junior NCO) proposed the loyal toasts. These were followed by speeches from both adults and cadets. As well as covering all our achievements from 2011 there were and some very heartfelt thanks. Many said how proud they were to be a senior cadet in their last year of what they feel is the best youth organisation anyone could join. So...... another successful annual dinner which will hopefully now become a joint venture; we said our goodbyes to an ex cadet who is also a good friend, we've said hello four new junior NCO's and as was said during the speeches, “be proud of yourselves and what you've achieved so far, and look forward to what you will achieve in the future”.
