Oakham Cadet Appointed as Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet For Rutland
On Sunday 16th October, proud cadet corporal, Stephanie de Kremer from Oakham Detachment, received her Lord Lieutenant’s badge from Dr Laurence Howard JP, the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland. This exceptional award was presented at a special investiture ceremony at Oakham Castle alongside her counterparts from the other Cadet Corps.
Stephanie said, “I was thrilled when I received the news of my appointment. The Army Cadet Force has offered me so many opportunities over the years and I have made many great friends along the way - to represent them as the Lord Lieutenant's Cadet is an honour."
The investment is a great privilege for the young people chosen, as it recognises the efforts they have put in to supporting the community, helping to develop the skills of younger cadets and especially their own achievements within the ACF.
Chosen from the whole of Rutland, Stephanie, who is currently working towards her Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award with the ACF, will assist the Lord Lieutenant with his ceremonial duties during the coming year and will also act as an ambassador for the Army Cadet Force.
Stephanie’s mother, Anne de Kremer said, "The whole family are extremely proud of Stephanie for being selected and for her dedication to Cadets"
