Training Day for Alexandra and Corby III

January 2010 saw a joint training day in Corby for Alexandra and Corby III detachments. Due to the specific nature of the training and testing not all cadets were required to attend; it was good to see that most of those who should have been there, were.
The day started off wet, a little disappointing for the one star testing group, as they were off on their expedition which also included some navigation work. The team managed to set a new record - they took 5 1/2 hours, the longest time ever!
The basic cadre were working hard. Every time I left the office to do something they appeared in a different location. It was obviously a very fast paced hard working day. Testing all day, which included heartstart, certainly kept them on their toes.
The NCO testing cadre to see who is ready for promtion was run by Cpl Rea, a full time soldier who lives locally and helps us at the detachment. He was assisted by Cdt Cpl's Swan and Smales. There were some very nervous smiles as cadets striving for promotion were taken in for interviews or problem solving exercise

After a tense day of interviews and tests the following cadets are to be congratulated on their promotions:

Cdt LCpl Marshall, Corby III
Cdt LCpl Harvey, Corby III
Cdt LCpl Pack, Alexandra.

It was a very busy day for everyone but we managed to pack in everything we needed to do, and only ran over by 5 minutes!

Well done to the Corby Cadets.
