Ashby Troop Do Their Bit For Remembrance Week
Ashby cadets stood shoulder to shoulder with the local British Legion branch members and the Mayor of Ashby during the launch of poppy week. With their help more than £22.000 was raised for the poppy fund in Ashby during the week running up to Remembrance Sunday.
As well as collecting for the poppy appeal, the cadets had a busy week attending events on Armistice Day, providing a guard of honour for the Ashby Concert of Remembrance at the Holy Trinity Church and £821.75 was collected by our cadets from these events.
The culmination of the week's activities was the Remembrance Sunday Service where 33, smartly turned out cadets, were on parade.
Well done to every cadet who was involved in the events over the week. Be very proud of yourself!
