Whitwick Armed Forces Day

Several cadets from the F Squadron Corps of Drums, along with Capt Ian Flamson, SMI Steve Pearce, SMI Andy Whitby & SSI Amanda Gilbert attended a small gathering at Whitwick to Celebrate the first Armed Forces Day.
Amongst those present were Major Richard Bream TD DL, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, members from various local British Legion Branches and members of the public.
Following the Drumhead Service the band gave a small concert and the audience joined in with most of the songs. The Union Jacks were waved with great enthusiasm when they played Land of Hope and Glory!!
The wet weather forced us to spend most of the time indoors but the tea and biscuits, served by the Ladies, was still very much appreciated.

Both the cadets and the Instructors were proud to be part of something which honours and celebrates the work that the Armed Forces, both past and present, do in support of our country.
